Are you looking to replace your 4WD Dodge Ram's OEM steering box with one that lasts longer and provides better input? It's hard to beat our remanufactured heavy-duty steering box that features a number of upgrades.

Your truck's original steering box was engineered in the 1960s, called a Series 700, and was made by Delphi. The replacement unit is also made by Delphi, but it was designed in the 2000s and it is called a Series 680.

So what makes the Delphi Series 680 a better mousetrap?

• Modern internal valving provides a variable assist feel to the driver's steering input. The further you turn the wheel the greater the assist. The benefits to you: the power assist is limited in the centered position to help the vehicle track straight on the highway.
• The Heavy Duty replacement steering box is a 13:1 ratio. The old box was a 16:1. The benefit to you: effectively 3.5 turns from lock-to-lock compared to 4.5 turns.
• Larger internal piston diameter (80mm) for greater power assist
• Larger diameter bearings support the output/Pitman shaft

If you use a Borgeson Replacement Steering Shaft (part numbers 000950 or 000945), the steering box installation is a simple bolt-in-place operation. The Delphi box and shaft are a full-circle spline design.

This steering box will only work on trucks with 4WD. This will also work on Ram 1500 4WD trucks and Gas model 2500/3500 4WD model trucks.

NOTE: To use this steering box with your truck's existing steering shaft (a female, D-shaped spline design), the input shaft (male, O-shaped) will have to be filed-down with a grinding wheel.

NOTE:This steering box will work on Cab/Chassis trucks.

NOTE:This steering box is larger than the original box and will not always work with other aftermarket accessories without modification. For example, steering box braces.
